Use Samsung Instinct phone as modem

There is a way to use the Samsung Instinct as modem……

Very simple… First, you need your MSL number as usual to get into the DEBUG menu and modify the NAI to off as mentioned in alot of posts. Search for it.

The ##872# does not work. Yes, we know. You do not need this due to the only thing that did was toggle the Samsung Instinct between USB data storage and USB Modem…..without removing the SD card.

Removing the SD card is the same thing as using the ##872#. So now second, remove the SD card from your Samsung Instinct. Hopefully you have the USB drivers set up on your computer by now.

Connect your Samsung Instinct via USB to your computer WITHOUT the SD card in the Samsung Instinct.

The Computer now sees the phone as a MODEM device and starts to install the drivers for it. Once finished installing the drivers, go to your control panel and click network connections.

Set up a new network conection….a manual dial-up one. A screen will appear asking for a user name and password and dial-up number.

The only thing you need to type in is #777 in the dial-up number box. And also name the connection if you want. Walllaaa!! Your phone will now show TX and RX showing data transfer.

If Sprint did not want us to use this phone as a modem, then why does the disc that came in the box have a Connection Manager install program on it???

I have the simply everything plan. My Samsung Instinct connects with no problem. Wether or not poeple say its not included…well why do they let it connect??
