Samsung will release 3 Android phones, 1 LiMo phone in 2009
Reuters is reporting that Samsung Electronics will release more than three phones using Google’s Android operating system this year. Won-Pyo Hong, head of product strategy, also confirmed that the manufacturer would release a phone using LiMo’s Linux software this year. Hong said it will release phones in the United States and Europe, though he did not substantiate which market would receive the first Android-powered Samsung mobile device. Samsung Cell Phone news
LiMo’s Linux software was developed on behalf of a consortium of mobile industry leaders hoping to provide an open, consistent Linux-based handset operating system. The Limo Foundation claims to have picked up several new members at Mobile World Congress this year. [via phonescoop]
