Samsung Instinct tips – Place Your MIDI Ringtones

I’m kind of fond of some of the stock ringtones/alerts from my old phone (Treo 700wx) so I wanted to carry some of them over to the Samsung Instinct. One problem: They were in MIDI format. Darn. But don’t fret, I figured out how to convert the MIDI ringtones to .mp3 format and now I have them on my Samsung Instinct. Great huh? Here’s how. Samsung Cell Phone tips & tricks

Samsung Instinct tips – Place Your MIDI Ringtones

1. Beam, Bluetooth, sideload, whatever, the MIDI file to your PC. (Make sure you save it to the desktop or somewhere easy to locate)
2. Go to http://www.hamienet.com/midi2mp3 (This site has an online converter which is free and requires no download or anything.
3. From the site follow the instructions to browse for the MIDI file and then convert it to your desired format (.mp3).
4. Save the newly converted file to your PC.
5. Sign up/Login to www.myxer.com (its totally free) and proceed to upload the file to your Samsung Instinct. Its just that easy!!
