Samsung Glyde Reviews

The first Samsung’s haptic touchscreen phone – Glyde now coming to hit the U.S. market. It has been launched on Sprint this summer.

The Samsung Glyde rely on a touch screen with a single button just below, with a 262,000-color display, it looks bright and beautiful and just measures only 2.75 inches, which is pretty small as touch screens go, the Samsung Glyde uses an audio connector that is less than ideal, a 2.5mm jack in this case, and a proprietary connection for USB.

The Samsung Glyde touchscreen is quite nice, but it’s a tiny bit finicky at times. Basically, when you touch the screen, you get a quick buzz, and when you lift your finger, another. The Samsung Glyde’s right spine includes a volume rocker/camera zoom, a camera shutter, and a power control. The 2-megapixel camera with AF is decent. Resolution goes as high as 1600×1200, but when it’s that high the zoom function is nixed. Cameras on phones generally suck and the Glyde fairs just above average.

While the interface needs some work, the Samsung Glyde’s keyboard is solid. It’s easy to use, and the keys had good punch and bounce. On the other hand, we also found the number keys and top level of the keyboard just a tad too close to the top part of the phone. Now the Samsung Glyde is $249 with service.
