Samsung Memoir battery saving tips: Samsung Cell Phone tips & tricks
(1) Turn off the "Automatic Backlight" setting. When activated, power is sent to the proximity and light sensors, which eat at battery life. Samsung Memoir
(2) If using Bluetooth, set "My phone’s visibility" to "Off". This keeps the Samsung Memoir from transmitting aimlessly for other new phones that are probably not around you.
(3) If you have no signal, enable "Airplane Mode". This shuts off the Samsung Memoir phone’s wireless stuff, and stops looking for towers.
(4) Change your backlight setting to the lowest setting. (1 of 7)
(5) Adjust your backlight time to 8 seconds.
(6) Turn on the automatic key lock. Inadvertently pressing a volume key or one of the three keys will enable the touch screen … you could "butt-dial" without knowing it if this setting is disabled.
(7) Turn off the Auto Flash when using your camera when light is available. The photo sensor uses extra battery life to determine whether a flash is needed.

I was taking notes and i stopped to play with my camera( not good lol) so i don’t know what i did but somehow i gout to view my pictures sort of like an itunes album cover,and when i turned it slightly to the left it scrolled on different picture. Samsung Memoir

To do it this is what you do.
Press menu then go to photos
Click on a random photo
Tilt your Samsung Memoir so its sideways(in landscape mode)
Slightly tilt your memoir to the left and the right and watch the slidage begin lol

DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE UNLIMITED MESSAGING AS IT USES YOUR TEXT MESSAGING SYSTEM TO EMAIL YOU!

Although it only works for certain Email providers like Google, hotmail, and most all isp providers. I will now stake claim and dated here on how to setup push email for your Samsung Memoir and Behold and actually every phone lol. This actually should work for all providers however yahoo charges for pop3 and so forth. This is not a hack and like I said has it has limitations however you don’t have to worry about stupid logging in and missing important emails. It will go straight to your Samsung Memoir and you will be able to reply via your Samsung Memoir.
OK, now to the good stuff. This is how this works. Every tmobile customer is provided with an email address: your phone#@tmomail.com. Got it? Your email provider such as google and hotmail provides mail forwarding for free. Yahoo does not. You have to pay for it.
Step #1 Log into your email provider’s web login. I will use Google for example.
Step #2 Go to the top right corner Navigation area of your web mail and select settings (options for other providers)
Step #3 Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP
Step #4 Under Forwarding select forward a copy of incoming mail and enter into the box your phone#@tmomail.net
Step #5 Scroll down and save changes
Now, when you receive mail it will go straight to your Samsung Memoir and stay in your inbox as well. When you get your mail, the email will display the original sender’s email in which you can click and respond VIA your Samsung Memoir.
The only downside is that the response email will display your tmo#@tmomail.net rather than your original email. It is late so I havent had the chance to call tmobile to see if they can display a phantom name. I’m sure they can (you don’t want some people to know your phone #.
However despite the minor short fall, I believe this is a short term answer in which we were all seeking. Thanks and I PWND.
PS You can set up forwarding with all of your email accounts…as many as you want
***EDIT***
You can change your tmomail.net addy by doing the following:
Login into my.t-mobile.com
Scroll to the bottom and find the configure email
A popup will appear and select change my tmomail.net name

Samsung Memoir Tips – convert file extention to MP4

Ok, let me begin by saying that i spent a few days (3-4) searching for a way to convert my .avi files of shows to MP4′s and the "best" solution I’ve found so far has been MediaCoder which is free.. You can get it at
http://www.mediacoderhq.com/index.htm they have presets for different phones.. So to convert you do the following.
1. Click "Add" and find your desired file. Samsung Cell Phone tips & tricks
2. Click "Extensions" and go to Generic Mobile Phone.
3. Select your desired quality, and change the format to "MP4 (MPEG4/AAC) and select the desired picture resolution (sadly no presets of 400*200).
4. Once that’s done click start and there you have it, a free, quick, great way to convert any file types to MP4. Samsung Memoir
UPDATE!!!
To get Full screen/near it just do the following
1. Under extensions go to PSP
(An error will come up and just click try again, then click cancel)
2. Under format select MPEG-4 SP ( 368×208 )
3. select video and audio quality and hit start!
The developer allows users to create custom extensions. Just go to "Extensions" and then down to "Build Your own" if anyone creates an extension for the memoir please post it!

Go to Admin Settings *#6984125*#
Go to Internals
master key *#9072641*#
Go to Java settings
Go to VM setting
Go to VM Mode
click on MVM & user allow back…save
go back to previous screen by pressing back key
click on MVM MIDlet max count (this is only if you want to be able to run multiple apps)
choose the amount of apps you would like to be able to run at one time…save
go back by pressing back button
click on MVM user End key option

Note since I have done this i have one side effect when I click on google maps it starts to load then gos back to the games and apps and I have to click on it a second time to open it.
now when your in apps and hit the end key it will say Exit Yes? No? and Minimize? instead of just yes and no next to the running apps after minimized you will see a little play button notifying that you have an app running in the games and apps if you hit more there will be a stop added in there and you can choose to stop the running applications or you can go back into them and close them that way. A: Go to Menu>Settings>Sound Profiles> Tap "Normal" (not the box w/the circle inside but tap the word itself), something should apear (Call,Message,Phone Tone Settings) now tap the "Call alert type" and then choose "Increasing melody" or "Vib. & increasing melody" that should solve your problem. I have had the Samsung Memoir for a few days now on AT&T network and for the first day my internet would not work. I got frustrated and aggravated then thought there has to be away. After searching for the better part of 6 hours on Google i found a a mysterious little code that said it was for the admin settings. So here is my little write up on it for anyone else that is on or will be on AT&T and couldn’t figure it out like me.

1. go to the dial pad and press *#6894125*#
2. tap on network & call settings
3. tap on connections
4. tap on browser
      set name = browser
      access name = wap.cingular
      auth type = none
      user id = *leave it blank*
      password = *leave it blank"
      protocol = HTTP
      Home Url = what ever you want your home page to be
      proxy address = wireless.cingular.com:80
      linger time (sec) = 300
5. tap on save and press the back button all the way out

There are other settings that can be changed in the admin settings that can and will make your Samsung Memoir phone not work so use at your own risk if you plan to go snooping around to see what else is in there.
