The new images of the Samsung Galaxy Lite I5700 reveal its new, white (with a touch of green) and black (tinge of orange) attire. Personally, we don´t really like the overly shiny green version and we believe the broad public will probably find the newest (and more austere) colour solutions more appealing. We, however, don´t like the other part of the news about the cell phone. According to Dial-a-Phone, the second Android-powered device by Samsung will be probably delayed until 2010 and we can almost hear the murmur of discontent coming from devoted fans of the Google-made operating system. Still, the source also mentions one of our favourite words, "TouchWiz" interface. Perhaps, it´s the personalization of the interface that´s the major reason behind the possible delay of the Samsung Galaxy Lite I5700. What we do now is that all prototypes of the handset run a "pure" version of the OS. What would you rather go for? Android that has not been tampered with and available in several weeks or highly personalized interface that comes with a substantial market launch delay? Samsung Galaxy Lite delayed to 2010?

The previously spotted Samsung Galaxy Lite will not be released in October, as previously expected, according to a recent Dialaphone report. Instead, Samsung has reportedly moved the release for the Anrdoid 1.5-powered device back to sometime in 2010, with the assumed reason being to allow the larger Galaxy to spend more time on the sales floor. As expected, the new image show that Samsung has axed the lime green case for slightly lower key color options, including black and orange as well as white and green. Other specs include a 3-inch, 480×272 touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi. It will be preloaded with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, the Chrome Lite browser, and Google Apps along with Android Market. An accelerometer is built-in, as is a GPS sensor and a 3.5mm audio jack. The 200MB of internal memory is expanded by up to 32GB microSDHC cards. Samsung Galaxy
Network support will include HSDPA-based 3G, EDGE and GPRS. Pricing and a release date aren’t yet known.

Samsung Releases Update for Galaxy GT-I7500

As of today, Samsung has released a firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500.

This is, sadly, not the update to Donut. However, it does include “switchers” which allow you to turn off and on Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS from the programs menu. Also along for the ride are improved device stability and battery performance. Samsung Cell Phone news

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Lite appears in video

Approved recently by the FCC, the Samsung I5700 Galaxy Lite makes an appearance in this video. It looks like the Samsung I5700 Galaxy Lite is running with Android 1.5 and the plain vanilla Android user interface, although Samsung might customize it down the road. Physically, the most interesting feature is the OLED display, but the video also shows that the interface runs very decently with no apparent slowdowns.
